URBN STEAMlab and GARDEN FRESH HOME were founded by Dr. Shivanthi Anandan and D.S. Nicholas in 2012, with a focus on Urban Sustainable Living and green space in the urban environment. Our work is patent pending with two low-impact growing units for underserved urban families without access to fresh food.

  • In 2024, DESIGN RESEARCH 4 HEALTH LAB is proud to participate in the International Bio-Design Challenge (BDC), an initiative that fosters innovation at the intersection of design and biotechnology. This global competition encourages young creators to tackle significant health challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration and creative problem-solving. Our involvement highlights our commitment to advancing health solutions that are sustainable and user-centered. By engaging with emerging talents from around the world, we aim to share knowledge, inspire new ideas, and contribute to a future where design plays a pivotal role in enhancing health and well-being. https://www.biodesignchallenge.org/drexel-university-2024
